You’re Invited to a Dance Extravaganza at the Georgian Terrace Every Week in May!

Dance the Night Away Every Thursday in May!

Arthur Murray Dance Studios Atlanta is delighted to partner with Atlanta’s grandest historic hotel to celebrate the Centennial anniversary of the Georgian Terrace! Every Thursday in May, pro instructors from the Marietta and new Alpharetta studios will give guests lessons in swing, salsa and ballroom dance savvy beginning at 7 p.m. sharp. Guests can then dance the night away from 7:30 – 9 p.m. to the sounds of DJ “Lethal Rhythms,” enjoying heavy hors d’ouvres and cash bar. Admission is $20. We’ll feature a special Cinco de Mayo Salsa night on May 5th.  Come out to help us celebrate southern hospitality at its finest! All you need to bring is your dancing shoes and a willingness to learn. Special room packages are available for guests who’d like to enjoy a “Staycation” getaway in the heart of Atlanta’s midtown and just steps from the Fox Theater.

About the Georgian Terrace:

To be great, a city must have a great hotel, a grand hotel. When Atlanta was coming into its own in the early 20th century that hotel was The Georgian Terrace Hotel. With its floor-to-ceiling windows, crystal chandeliers and white marble columns, The Georgian Terrace had an elegance Atlanta hadn’t known before. When the hotel opened its doors in glamorous Midtown a century ago, it opened them to some very notable guests, including President Calvin Coolidge, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Tallulah Bankhead. In 1939, The Georgian Terrace hosted the premiere gala of Gone with The Wind. Every decade brought more notoriety to the hotel. In the 1970s, concert promoter Alex Cooley turned our Grand Ballroom into the famed Electric Ballroom, hosting concerts by musicians such as Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac, and Patti Smith. As Atlanta modernized its skyline many of its older buildings disappeared, but not The Georgian Terrace Hotel. As did the nearby Fox Theater, this beautiful historic hotel had dedicated fans, and in 1986, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Three Beautiful Ballrooms

Exquisite architecture; crystal chandeliers; warm quiet hues and luscious, natural light give our three ballrooms a timeless character. Hold your reception in our Grand Ballroom—always elegant with its classic architecture and crystal chandeliers. Many brides fall in love with our more modern Piedmont Room, which works beautifully for private functions. Our third ballroom is the Mitchell Room. This smaller venue, with its gorgeous natural light, is wonderful for more intimate ceremonies and celebrations.
